Hi! Meet Jenifer! She is born and raised in Orange County, Southern California. First generation Chinese-Vietnamese-American girl, oldest daughter of four girls. Her educational background was in Education and she was a teacher for over 16 years. She pursued her undergrad in Early Childhood Education but gave up teaching to purse her masters in School Psychology with a PPS credential and an emphasis in ABA for her passion in working with kids with special needs. While teaching at the school district, before and after hours, Jenifer would work in her home studio doing flowers for events and weddings. As the pandemic happened, her undergrad plans took a turn and she soon found herself falling back more in love with florals, so she left her district job and pursued florals full time in 2016.
Jenifer worked for a big wedding company one summer and that really opened many doors for her. She then started freelancing for many well-known big companies in Orange County, Los Angeles and even in San Diego. She started doing wedding flowers for family and friends in 2009 and with the love and support from her family and friends, she found her passion in designing weddings and events. Jenifer gravitates towards anything that is beautiful and everything pretty. She yearns for moments like when the bride’s reaction as she see’s her bouquet for the first time and when the couple does the reception room reveal towards the end of her work day. Their face expressions and their words of affirmation really makes her fall in love with her career all over again.
Although Jenifer is passionate about florals, she also has a passion with educating others. Jenifer even taught flowers for an ROP for high schoolers one time and that really made her even more motivated to teach. She now has a new love for teaching and mentoring other floral designers and equipping them in their flower journey.
On her days off, you’ll find Jenifer spending time with her husband, Vincent and her fur child a Havenese dog, named Thea or huge family. She’s really close with all her three younger sisters. The newest love of her life right now is her niece Josephine (Joie). You’ll see that she posts about them all over Instagram. Jenifer loves hosting parties at her house, cooking and serving others bring her happiness. She finds joy online shopping, shopping, drinking wine (Stella Rosa and Moscato is her favorite), watching Friends and Grey’s Anatomy. Jenifer loves to travel and she loves eating great food whether it’s dining out or in or even cooking with her husband. She enjoys eating Asian food especially Japanese and Vietnamese fine cuisines. She loves trying new restaurants and is drawn by fusion foods. She also loves Mexican and Peruvian food as well. She has a keen sense of style with home decor interior designing, florals, everything organization, cleaning, hacks and event production. It’s evident that this career chose her because she definitely didn’t imagine herself becoming florist, but she has humbly accepted her calling in being a wedding and event floral designer.
